As a fan of The Dragon Prince series, I can confidently say that the graphic novel, Through The Moon, is an essential addition to the story. Not only does it provide more depth and insight into the characters and their motivations, but it also bridges the gap between seasons three and four of the show.
One of the main reasons why Through The Moon is necessary is because it delves into the emotional aftermath of Viren’s defeat. In season three, we see him being defeated by Callum and Rayla, but we don’t get to see how his actions have affected those closest to him. Through The Moon explores this in a poignant and heartbreaking way, allowing us to understand the complex relationship between Viren and his children.
Additionally, Through The Moon also gives us a glimpse into what happened to Aaravos after his imprisonment in the mirror. This mysterious character has been a driving force behind many events in the show, and finally getting some insight into his perspective adds another layer to his character.
